{recap of} STORIES WITH SANTA :: A Quad Cities Christmas Event!

What fun it was to laugh and play at Stories with Santa!

Last weekend we hosted a magical afternoon with Mr and Mrs Claus, complete with activities, food, and take your own photos in a beautiful, comfortable space! Stories with Santa, an event by the Quad Cities Moms team, was a huge hit with young and old alike! I’m pretty sure that Santa himself had the most fun of all!

Families in the Quad Cities area got to spend their Sunday afternoon at the fabulous Hauberg Estate. This local wonder is a mansion to be admired. We were so thankful that Santa made his first stop in Rock Island at The Hauberg House!

Make your next event magical at the beautiful Hauberg Estate, Mansion and Gardens. The Estate has hosted birthdays, baby showers, weddings, graduation parties, celebrations of life, and special family occasions of all kinds.

As you can see, the historical details and layout of the mansion lend a warm and intimate feel to your celebration and create a stunning backdrop for memorable photos. A large front lawn with the beautiful bubbling tulip fountain is ideal for outdoor events. The Estate is available for rental any time of the year.

Mr Claus chatted up the little (and big!) ones in a personal visit and everyone took photos with Santa and Mrs Claus. While he posed for photos and bounced kids on his knee, she read Christmas stories to over a hundred eager children in the beautiful solarium. I am seriously bummed I don’t have a solarium.

{The Eastern Iowa Baking Company}

The Eastern Iowa Baking Company arrived with a plentiful stock of deliciously fragrant freshly baked cookies, icing and decorations to make the perfect ornament cookie. Of course, most families didn’t get the chance to hang them on the tree, as they were too quickly devoured. I genuinely thought of smuggling all of the leftovers into my pants to take home, but figured it would be too crumbly. No one wants crumbly pants.

 Live music was provided by the fabulous {Fellowship of the Strings}. If you’d like for some classy music provided by the sweetest people ever, hire them via Instagram.

Delicious Christmas treats and drinks for your whole family were provided by

{Fresh Thyme Davenport} and {Quad City Pizza Company}

Davenport Parks and Rec:

Thanks to our friends at  Davenport Parks and Rec, all of the little ones went home with their own Davenport swag!  They also had a BLAST with the Christmas tree corn hole game! Special thanks to Tykes on the Turf and Learn to Skate for being one of our indoor playdate hosts, too.  If this cold weather has you looking for some fun things to do with your crew, check out their  Facebook events today!

Nelson Chiropractic

We loved watching the kids make adorable reindeer ornaments at the Nelson Chiropractic booth! What a cute idea! We highly recommend scheduling a visit to see Dr.Traci Nelson, Dr. Lindsay Gall, and Dr. Tyler Johnson at Nelson Chiropractic. Not only are they one of the only places in the Quad Cities where you can get thermography; the work they are doing for kids (and their giants) is ground-breaking! We are beyond thrilled to see the growth of their practice in Bettendorf!  Follow them on Facebook for more information and some great testimonials from their patients, too.

R5 Nail Salon and Spa

The nail decals at the R5 Nail Salon space was fun for kids and parents alike; parents loved it because they got a hand massage! R5 is locally owned and family run. If you’re looking for the place to plan a girls date, or just get your own nails done in a gorgeous relaxing space, be sure you book your appointment on-line. They do walk-ins as well, except not Mondays. Check out their website and Facebook page for more information!

Giraffe Photography

Giraffe Photography does not just capture a moment, they capture an artful moment. From weddings to maternity to seniors to the “Baby Giraffe Club”, Giraffe is with you, shooting your life every step of the way. Check out their website and Facebook page for more information!

Not only did Elaine take most of the photos you see here, she also brought with her awesome crafts for the kids, including jingle bracelets and snowflake ornaments. The woman is non-stop! If you’re looking for the perfect person to keep your memories for you in a beautiful photograph, look no further.

{Kate’s Bling and Sparkles}

True to her business name, Katie brought tons of bling and sparkles to add to our Santa event. She had Christmas sticker activities that were a big hit with the kids while the moms could look around her pop up shop and buy some inexpensive, fashion forward jewelry that doesn’t look cheap, but costs very little! Be sure to follow her on Facebook and learn more!

Just Him is a boutique just for boys, for Just Him! Due to an emergency, they were unable to attend our event, but you need to know how wonderful their business is! As a mom of two boys myself, I know how easy it is to find adorable girl clothes just about anywhere, and yet it seems the good quality, cute clothing for boys is still lacking. Just Him to the rescue! Be sure to shop their website for the little man in your life and follow them on Facebook to find out their next local appearance.

Mandala Integrative Medicine

The guys of Mandala brought Santa trivia to our Santa event. By answering a few questions about the big man in red (even if you were wrong) you won a prize.

Be sure to follow them on Facebook,  and Instagram you can learn a lot just from their pages, and being a part of their health groups,  but you really should check them out in person and start living your best life now! 833-488-9355

{Quad Cities Moms}

Our kiddos had the chance to write and mail a letter to Santa. Some of the letters, with their thoughtful sentiments, big hearted kindness, and genuine compassion made me well up with tears. You’re doing a great job, Mamas and raising the best children!

For a small fee, we wrote back to those sweet kids. I loved thinking of each and everyone of them as I addressed their envelopes and inserted their letter from “Santa”.

We had face painting and coloring pages as well, and many parents availed themselves of the chairs around the room to take a break while their children colored and wrote.

We also had swag from WQPT in the kids’s bags, as well as a gift from Sorella Massage.  Be sure to follow her for more specials and openings.
