Pick Your Own Strawberries | In the QCA


Summer is finally near. And we are ready for the sunshine and sweetness of berry season! Start dreaming of recipes, because berry picking season is almost here!

Below is where you can pick berries locally. A few things to remember:

Strawberry picking season generally starts in early June.

Timing and availability can vary based on weather and other conditions, so always call the berry farm or check their website before you head out.

Getting a little messy is part of the fun! Sampling is the best part for kiddos, so be prepared for some beautifully stained fingers and faces! Don’t forget rain boots or old shoes, clothes that can get dirty, and sunscreen!

Happy Hollow U-Pick is best known for the variety of hot peppers they grow, such as habaneros, ghost peppers, serrano, and poblano to name just a few – but did you know they also have strawberries available in the summer? They first opened their fields in the spring of 1995 and have been growing ever since.

Annie’s Acres is a family owned and operated strawberry farm since 1987. Customers can Pick-Your-Own berries as well as purchase picked berries at local markets. Typically the Iowa berry season occurs in the month of June.
