Coffee is to moms what atoms are to the universe. It’s the basis of what makes this life possible and if it were taken away, there would be nothing left. Certainly nothing worth living for anyway. Also, it’s scrumptious. Coffee shops allow moms to get out of the house and treat ourselves to not making our own brew.
Because of the coffee shop’s importance in the world of moms, we know you know the best places to go when a home brew just isn’t cutting it. We asked the you, our readers, the Quad Cities Moms, for your favorite recommendations of local coffee shops, and you were happy to share your loves.
The Quad Cities Coffee Shop Guide is sponsored by our featured coffee shops. We so appreciate the support of the community and the opportunity to present our readers with valuable resources such as these.
DUNN BROTHERS COFFEE
Dunn Brothers is locally owned and operated, so when you eat here, you’re supporting your neighbors. They offer freshly roasted beans and made to order breakfast sandwiches, as well as other fresh bakery items and pastries. Made in house from the best of ingredients, any of their food offerings will be delightful. Grab a fresh pumpkin muffin, available in the fall season only, from the bakery case, for an autumn explosion of flavors.
Some of their specialties include nitro cold coffee, cold press coffee, brewed coffee, hot lattes, blended frappes, smoothies, and their signature drink: Vanilla Iced Nirvana. Seasonal choices are always available, including a Pumpkin Pie Latte, Golden Oatie, and a Honey Spiced Nirvana on the fall menu.
All of their locations are great for meetings, interviews, and even small gatherings. Offering wonderful spaces to hang out, both inside or out on the patio, two Dunn Brothers locations also have drive-thrus, so you don’t have to unbundle baby from the car, or drag the toddler into the shop to get your freshly roasted bean fix.
Here’s what Quad Citians have to say when asked their favorite coffee shops:
Anna of LeClaire: My fave is Dunn Bros! I love the coffee shop location off 53rd. Great work vibes, great baristas and even better coffee. Their decaf doesn’t suck, which is super important for this coffee lover whose body stopped tolerating caffeine! They have great decaf iced as well (which surprisingly most places won’t make.) Plus their syrups are made in house now and don’t have scary stuff in them! ??
Janel of Moline: Dunn Brothers is my favorite because that’s the only place I have found that serves bulletproof coffee, although I get bulletproof Americanos.
Ashley: I drive all the way over to Dunn Brothers Coffee in Bettendorf , on every day off I have, just for the coffee. (I live on the Illinois side.) Great customer service always, and they also love my Shiba Inu .We are big fans !
Trish of East Moline: Nice people, comfortable atmosphere, and great coffee. The pumpkin and pistachio muffins are both delicious too! It’s the perfect stop in the morning and a relaxing spot for a late afternoon or evening wind down. Truly enjoy the place!
COFFEE HOUND
Celebrating 20 years in business this year, Coffee Hound is a locally-owned coffeehouse that believes in combining the highest quality ingredients for the perfect coffee tasting experience. The owners, Greg and Beth Aronson, were raised in the Quad Cities and attended Pleasant Valley High School. After college, they moved to the West Coast where they developed their taste for quality coffee beverages.
They have developed their own flavored coffees which you can make at home, including Peanut Butter Pup, a delicious coffee blend of peanut butter, salted caramel, and chocolate, and Pugkin Brew, a pumpkin flavored coffee with sweet maple and a hint of walnut.
Don’t let the chilly autumn air cool you off. Grab a steaming mug of their Pugkin Brew, or other home brewed option, to welcome autumn in superb fashion. We can’t think of a better (or tastier!) way to fend off frosty weather than with a cup of their delicious brews. If you have a chance to snag a seat by the fireplace, even better!
Here’s what Quad Citians have to say when asked their favorite coffee shops:

Quad Citizen Kassandra: Coffee Hound is my favorite because it is delicious and the staff is friendly
Local resident Forest: Not your average coffee shop. The staff always welcomes you warmly and if you’re a regular they remember your usual. They also serve food and cocktails! The sangrias are amazing and the platters make a great split snack. They recently redecorated the interior and it’s very cozy. Highly recommend!
Davenport local Nyla: I love going to Coffee Hound to start my day with any number of coffee and tea choices. Both patrons and the people that work there are awesome and have become friends. guess you could call me “a coffee hound groupie”.

There are excellent sandwiches and I recommend the turkey egg provolone with bacon jam. Beautiful blown glass artwork is also available for purchase here.

Fresh Blends

Amanda, Park View: Fresh Blends is my favorite. While not technically a coffee shop, I love it because I don’t drink coffee on the regular, and they are healthy. You can get coffee drinks here along with all sorts of delicious juices and smoothies.
The atmosphere is great too, whether you want to get a little work done, or meet with someone.

The staff is the most friendly and helpful out of all the places I’ve been. I live in Long Grove and don’t even think twice about driving to Davenport to get my drinks here. I’m definitely a huge fan.
Cafe d'Marie
